Did you ever wonder HOW you could bring God into your day more? Well, below I’ve listed a few suggested ways that can help you. Use these suggestions in Your day to develop your relationship with God.
1.) Give gratitude a chance -There is so much in life to be grateful for! But when we are dealing with a difficult situation, or feeling frustrated from a lousy day, we’re tempted to say all the things that’s wrong with life.
But God wants us to use our mouths to build each other up! Especially, in the area of being grateful for what he has done for us. The next time you are in a negative situation, start thinking about the positive things in life, and thank God for them.
“But giving thanks is a sacrifice that truly honors me. If you keep to my path, I will reveal to you the salvation of God.” Psalm 50:23 (NLT)
2.) Use Your Phone – When I’m in my car on my way to work, or running an errand, I will listen to Podcasts on my phone. Usually, it will be a sermon from a pastor that i enjoy or something inspirational to get me through the day. Oftentimes, I find just the right message I need for a situation I may be going through.
3.) Schedule It! – You may think that this is ridiculous, but I am absolutely serious. If we can make appointments to get our hair done, visit the doctor, pay our bills, and clean the house, then why not schedule time to be with the Lord. When we schedule “Time with God” in our calendars it should be just as important an entry as any other item we put in our list (if not more.)
4.) Appreciate the little things in life! – For example, when your wife or your husband gives you a kiss, or a co-worker does something nice for you, or when a stranger opens the door for you! All of these things show the love and favor of God for you. When we learn to appreciate the little things in life, we can appreciate the victories in our life as well.
5.) Read – Choose some good Christian material that you can start to study and make time to read it. The more we learn, the more we understand what God wants for us as His followers.
6.) Bless and Do Not Curse – What are you saying over your life? Is it positive biblical affirmations that build you up, or is it negative words that tear you down. Proverbs 18:21 says “ Death and Life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Your words have a powerful influence on your beliefs. So start saying the things that the bible says over your life. And do not give the Devil a foothold on your destiny!
7.) Help Someone In Need – Matthew 25:40 says “…I [Jesus] tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sister of mine, you did it for me.” When we help someone in need we not only provide them with the physical things they may need, but we are also sharing the love of Christ with that person as well. Who knows? Your act of kindness may even effect their decision to accept Christ. It will certainly bless them, and it will even bless you as the one who gives.
“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Colossians 3:17
